The Ten Hour Project That Saved Dinner

Wow, this 10 hour project is going to be a lot longer than ten hours but definitely worth it. Today we discussed the importance of having freezer meals tucked away in the freezer for important events like your in-laws showing up unannounced around dinner time (it is important to look like you feed their son every once in a while), a new baby, Monday and Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings, game nights, and of course the occasional emergency. I knew a sister who was in YW’s and daughters that were in it with her, the family had frozen pizza every Wednesday to make the night go easier. Another sister would make cookies and freeze them for Family Home Evening treats just in case the night was busy.

Feeding your family is the ultimate expression of love and there has been a lot of love in our house lately. We have been cooking our favorites, making new ones and making messes but it has been so much fun. Especially today because my DD made lunch all by herself.  All the hours in the kitchen paid off and she made asparagus soup. It was so good that I didn’t mind cleaning up the mess. I’m still wondering how she managed without me hovering over her micromanaging her the whole time but all I could think about as I ate the tasty, low cal, freezer friendly meal ,was how good it was. We are reinventing dinner time at Bianca’s house. And it has never been so fun. Today freezer meals tomorrow the CROCKPOT!

  • Didn’t you learn your lesson when I cooked with my daughter and screamed at her in your ear?!?

  • Actually, what do you think inspired me? I thought I would give it a try. It turned out to be more trying than not!
    Hugs,
