What I Want My Children To Know

Having a new baby really makes you think….about the life you want for your child. Now that I’m having a baby in my older years those ideals have changed. It isn’t as much about money as it is about love. Not so much about being faster, smarter, taller, or better dressed as it is about being good, kind, resourceful,  being happy with what you have or feeling the joy of creating a solution out of necessity. More about them being independent and making good choices all by themselves then about me feeling needed. It’s more about feeding their curiosity then about cramming the academics, and loving them for who they are instead of trying to create something they aren’t. It is more about enjoying every moment with them, telling them I love them as often as I can and finding things we both enjoy and spending quality time with them doing it, before they grow up. Because I’ve learned that it happens way too fast and if you blink you will miss it.

  • So many profound things for me to remember for when I have kids. Definetly don’t blink with Jericho. He is already growing so fast! The video was awesome, I needed that advice today!!!
