Chapter 29: The Lord’s Law of Health

My Body-A Temple, Friend, May 1992

Thought:  My Body-A Temple is a cute visual from the Friend magazine, that will give the person giving the thought, a jumping off place to get this lesson started.
Lesson: “Chapter 29: The Lord’s Law of Health,” Gospel Principles, (2009)
Story: “Daniel Obeys the Lord”, Friend, June 1998
Activity: “Body Building,” Friend, Jul 1986, 8
This is one of my FAVORITE games in the Friend. If you can find an old July 1986 copy of the Friend magazine you are truly in luck. It has these pictures of a 1980’s body builder complete with headbands and wrist bands. I love it. But since they do not have the illustrations for this game online, you can make extra copies of the above thought and cut them up for the body parts. Or use clip art. Still, very fun game.
Treat: Festive fancy Drinks – I have a fascination with pretty glassware and so naturally I began an interest in fun drinks to put in them. My tweens and I spent a summer mixing and fixing different drinks until we were completely satisfied with the taste and felt that the taste matched the beautiful glassware we presented them in. So, for the first time ever, we are publishing these secret recipes. Here they are:  Fancy Festive Drinks Recipes or you could just open a bottle of sparkling cider, make fruit smoothies or just have some fresh fruit or even open up a box of runts. A fun handout for missionaries would be this candy fruit basket (without the Relief Society stuff)

  • I just wanted you to know that for Relief Society tonight we are supposed to bring an FHE idea and FHE treat idea. I knew right where to go to get good ideas. You seriously are the bomb.com! I am taking The Lord’s Law of Health. Thanks for sharing! Love you all!

  • P.S.I am going to make sure they all know where the idea came from and how to get to it themselves!
