Philmont Monday: Family Home Evening Banners
Monday night came quickly. It was time to parade our family banners across the stage. It was a wonderful experience to see the many different family banners and meet all the families. There were quilted banners, silkscreen banners, leather banners, vinyl and even paper banners. Some gave a scripture that the family was working on, or a family motto, others displayed proudly their family crest. Some had all the names of the family members displayed others had logos. I was so worried because while we had a small fabric banner that we made from a garden banner we found at wal-mart and used a fabric transfer to put our information on it, our large one for the parade was made of paper. It was really windy and drizzly and I was unsure if ours would last through the night. But we did fine. Still I wished I knew how to sew. Some of my favorite banners were beautifully sewn with attachments for each family member in the form of fringe or other shapes. I especially enjoyed the banners that were shaped like royal banners. Vinyl banners aren’t as expensive as they use to be. Especially if you order online ahead of time. Here are some links:

Oopsey Daisy,
Good Luck with your family banner.
Thanks for posting this. We are going to Philmont this year and I made a banner like the one you have pictured.
Hi Tarnation,
I’m so glad you found this! I looked everywhere for ideas and didn’t find much so I’m glad I could help. I hope you had an amazing time.
Hugs,
