Confession: Philmont or Bust
We have been planning this vacation for months. When my DH was called to the Stake YM presidency, the Stake President said that one of the requirements was attendance at the Philmont Scout Training program for LDS Leaders. I gladly accepted the challenge. Bring on the camping! Bring on the tents! Bring on the meals made for me and the child care! I know that the scouting program is good for young men but it is good for “old” men too. I love what the program does for my DH as well as my sons and am excited to participate in the program with him, instead of just being a silent supporter. It will be fun to speak to the wives of other leaders and share the woes and wins of being a YM leader’s wife. The only thing is….we leave tomorrow and I haven’t gotten anything done. My name is Bianca, we leave for Philmont tomorrow and I’m NOT ready. There are ripe bananas on my counter that I need to make banana bread with, laundry that needs to be put away, I need to do my visiting teaching before I go, I wanted to clean my office and exercise today, I’ve got family coming over from out of town this afternoon and I still haven’t packed yet. Fly lady would suggest that I’m easily sidetracked…..huh….she’s got a point but if I were to focus on one thing what would it be? I think I will start by getting dressed to shoes, doing my morning chores….and then I will pack. If I have time, I’ll make banana bread, and take some to my VT companion cuz she will probably end up going by herself this month. Here’s an idea, I’ll delegate!! I’m gonna get right on that. Always something to work on.
