She Loves Meat and Potatoes

So, I got some phone calls today, from friends in Arizona and Utah about the lesson on the Word of Wisdom in Sunday School yesterday. I wasn’t actually at church yesterday so I couldn’t say for sure but according to my friend’s interpretation of the lesson, we don’t have to worry so much about eating meat “sparingly” anymore. Some of you may be happy to know that due to our new found ability to preserve the flesh of beasts, we no longer have to worry about how much we eat of it. Isn’t that nice? (Warm Milk)
In other Steaks (Please excuse the pun)  around the world, the lesson went as planned (Teacher’s Lesson Plans for the Word of Wisdom), with an emphasis on the blessings promised to those who live it. Some things in the Word of Wisdom are straightforward and easy to understand and other things can be harder to implement in our daily lives. But Molly wouldn’t just throw those concepts out because they are hard. Or justify her own behavior with random quotes from Church Leaders, taken out of context. She has never taken someone else’s word for it when it comes to the gospel and has never been afraid to find out for herself. The more she researched, and prayed and practiced the more knowledge she would gain about that principal, or any principal for that matter and the more easier it would become to her. With the faith that she had demonstrated in the first steps toward living the principal, would come (line upon line, precept upon precept) a better understanding of what that principal means in her life and for those with whom she has a stewardship over. And that my darlings is what I call the “Meat and Potatoes” of the gospel. Fill up your souls with it and you will never go hungry again. You get out of the gospel of Jesus Christ what you put into it and Heavenly Father has promised to answer any questions you may have.
