Water Wars

Helping my children drink more water during the summer has been my challenge lately. They just don’t seem to like the taste as much as soda, juice or just about anything else. So here are some recipes that help me win the water war

1. A couple of drops of Young Living Orange, Lemon or peppermint to two quarts of water.
2. 1 orange, 1 lime, 1 lemon, 1/2 grapefruit, and 1 cup of mint leaves to 1 gallon of ice water or room temperature.
3. 1 Apple sliced and drenched with lemon juice, and one orange sliced to one gallon of 1ce water. Chill overnight.
4. 1 Cucumber sliced, 2 limes sliced, and mint to 1 gallon of ice water
5. Add some fresh raspberries and some pesticide free pink roses, chill overnight.
6. Lemon slices, mint or basil leaves and blooming pesticide-free yellow roses.
7. freeze fruit, berries or herbs (like Mint or basil) into your own ice cubes, put them into the bottom of an ice cube tray and fill the rest of the way with water then freeze.
8. Combine orange slices with your favorite berries and a gallon of ice water.
Of course if your children like water but just don’t want to take the time out of their very busy summer to get the ice out of the freezer and make themselves some cold water, have a pitcher of water in the fridge ready for them or have a water bottle with there name on it always filled in the fridge ready to drink.
