Confession: Marriage is Hard

Ok, I should say here that I love my man. He is an excellent provider, he is exceptionally hot, he honors his priesthood, studies his scriptures and he took me to the temple to get married….but….and here’s the confession…being married is still hard sometimes, and it has taken about a week, a lot of prayer and a big fight to come up with the good things I’ve just said about him.
In YW’s there was a whole bunch of talk about marrying in the temple, and somehow I drew the conclusion that being married in the temple would make things easier and maybe it does, but add in the in-laws, financial ups and downs, chemical ups and downs (pregnancy etc.), spiritual ups and downs, bad choices, constantly changing goals and dreams, and gauranteed you will still have hard days.
My name in Bianca, I was married in the temple, and sometimes marriage is hard! It is a lot harder than I thought it would be.  And while temple marriage could ensure an eternity together, eternity can seem a lot longer on some days than on others. There is one truth I know for sure, that it is my job as the matriarch to maintain the Spirit in my home as much as possible. It has a way of softening hearts, protecting others, and it is a catalyst for creativity and inspiration when problems arise. While temple marriage may or may not be a guarantee for a happy marriage, maintaining the spirit that one may feel in the temple may be. So maybe it isn’t getting married in the temple as much as it is making your home a temple that in the end will bring you the most happiness in marriage and even still there will be an occasional bad day to make you appreciate the good ones.
