Mormons call it “Wheat Meat”. And since it says in the D&C “12. Yea, flesh also of beasts and of the fowls of the air, I, the Lord, have ordained for the use of man with thanksgiving; nevertheless they are to be used sparingly; 13. And it is pleasing to me that they should not be used, only in times of winter, or o cold, or of famine.” D&C 89:12-13 I am determined to learn how to do this! I sure hope it tastes good. My DH thinks the name is appropriate. He is a rancher and his family eats meat at every meal. He has this deep seeded belief that vegitarianism is of the Devil. But for many years now with all the diets out there I’ve been facinated by the Word of Wisdom. I believe it to be true and am trying to find a way to fit it into our lives. John Gray believes that there is a way of eating that promotes the best brain chemistry and I beleive the Word of Wisdom has something to do with that.  The promise is in verses 18 and 19, “And all saints who remember to keep and do these sayings, walking in obedience to the commandments, shall receive health in their navel and marrow to their bones; 19. And shall find wisdom and great treasures of knowledge, even hidden treasures;” Wouldn’t that be nice? So now that winter is over my DH has agreed to try to eat less meat and I’m going off of it cold turkey (pardon the pun) for the summer months. Wish me luck! PS. Great way to try using your food storage!
