Confession: Problems With Ponytails

My name is bianca and I have worn my hair in a ponytail all week….

This, from the person who says all the time, “Your hair is your best accessory.” I mean isn’t it? A person could be wearing the ugliest ensemble but if they have great hair you automatically think that’s the in look. It is the one thing that can make anyone beautiful add a little make up and you are stunning.
There are very practical reasons for wearing one’s hair up of course, like because nothing takes out a beautiful curl like baby spit up. And a little hair in the soup you are making for dinner does not enhance the flavor any. Depending on how long your hair is, cleaning the toilet can leave your hair quite the opposite. I was trying to put my make up on quickly after doing my hair in long beautiful curls like the days when I lived in the city and I got mascara all over one of my locks of hair. My hair isn’t black so having a black streak in it just didn’t look as refined as I wanted it to. And of course my personal favorite reason to wear hair up is just in case you get a chance to workout. You can also put it in a loose bun and end up with a little curl after the workout. 

It makes me yearn for yesteryear in the old west when elegant ladies wore their hair up and added hats and accessories. It was practical and beautiful. Then later the ladies seemed to wear rollers during their morning chores. That’s not such a bad idea either. At least it is out of your face and you still look fierce when Daddy gets home. It makes you wonder how modern mothers should do their hair to be comfortable during the day and still look hot for their husbands when they come home from work or look presentable doing work in the yard or visiting teaching.

I have given myself permission to wear my hair up as much as I want if:

3. I wear make up

Perhaps, someday I might just cut it short so that I am forced to style it each day and it won’t get in the way. But for now, I will style it really lovely for special occasions, like church or going out with my dear husband.
