What the Heck is an Integer?

Ok so while we were in Tucson, the Marana School District tried out this new math program called “Everyday Mathematics”. It has all kinds of new and slightly innovative ways of doing math but seriously needed a parents manual because helping my children with their homework was an absolute nightmare. Who can remember all the math terms in the first place and when the program is using a different method all together then you used as a child, things can get ugly quick. My friend just let me borrow a book called Math on Call a Mathematics Handbook. It is like a dictionary of math terms and techniques. What a great addition to any parent’s library. There is nothing I like more than being able to answer my child’s questions. And this is a great help.
