Molly Finds Joy in the Journey
Sometimes I worry so much about doing things right that I forget to have fun along the way. Doesn’t it seem like if you are having fun you are not doing it right? I mean just like when you taste something amazing you automatically assume it is high in calories? What does a perfectionist do for fun anyway?
Our Relief Society teacher reminded us to enjoy the moments with our children, even the messy ones (messes usually take the perfection right out of the moment for me) An older lady admitted that now that she is older she never washes the fingerprints off the sliding glass doors to preserve the memories of her grandchildren. I started to cry uncontrollably. I was so grateful when another (one of my favorites) sweet lady replied, “Well that is a good excuse anyway.” Here is President Monson’s Talk on finding joy in the journey. Put down the dirty dish you are about to clean, the load of laundry can wait and take a moment to read these words from our Prophet and then take a moment to enjoy the imperfections in your life.
