I\u2019ve Got an Incredible Headache

I\u2019ve got an incredible headache,
\nmy temples are throbbing with pain,
\nit feels like a freight train with two locomotives
\nis chugging about in my brain.
\nI\u2019m sure I can\u2019t stand it much longer,
\nmy skull\u2019s being squeezed in a vise,
\nas regiments march to the blaring of trumpets,
\nand thousands of tap-dancing mice.
\nMy head\u2019s filled with horrible noises,
\nthere\u2019s a man mashing melons inside,
\nsomeone keeps drumming on bongos and plumbing,
\nas porpoises thrash in the tide.
\nAn elephant herd is stampeding,
\na volcano is blowing its top,
\nand if I keep hitting my head with this hammer,
\nI doubt that my headache will stop.<\/p>\n

My name is Bianca and I have metaphorically been hitting my head with a hammer and consequently have a severe migrain.<\/p>\n

Isn\u2019t it funny how we can create our own pain? Like when we try to impress the habitually unimpressed, how we chase after acceptance from the unacceptable, seek love from the un-loveable, and get offended by the exceptionally offensive. When all we really need, is to be impressed when we look in the mirror, accept ourselves for who we are and to fall madly in love with the person we have become. Then everything falls into place. Our choices all of a sudden make us happier. We no longer allow others to mistreat us. We can sincerely applaud other\u2019s successes. We fall in love with the right kind of people, and we compassionately train them how to love us, \u2026and the headache stops\u2026
\nThere are millions of reasons for the modern migraine. Today, I will put down\u00a0my hammer and take some aspirin. I will forgive the unforgivable, accept the unacceptable, find something to love about the un-loveable, and let the offensive find someone else to offend. And hopefully be pain free by Monday.
