The air was filled with the scent of a man…maybe two, when my in-laws came over to check on me the other day.\u00a0My DH had been gone for his third week in a row. The looks on their faces were filled with suspicion, judgement,\u00a0and a hint of confusion as they tried to figure out how I could have managed it. I home-school. I live in a town of 900 people, most of them LDS, and happily married or happily widowed, and I have toddler\u00a0and one on the way. Still, I’m sure I noticed a raised eyebrow when I gave them a hug goodbye and they realized the scent was coming from me. My name is Bianca…and sometimes I wear men’s cologne. Here’s the thing, my husband doesn’t wear cologne. But I LOVE the scents I have bought him over the years for special occasions, like our anniversary,\u00a0Valentines day, his birthday and his first father’s day. They all sit quietly in our medicine cabinet. And when I miss him the most they become my best friends, always there to remind me of some of the best moments of our lives together. So, I will admit that the confusion and suspision\u00a0were perhaps ligitimate. Someday, when I care more about what my in-laws think, I might switch to just using his deoderant. Until then, it is Polo on my pillow,\u00a0Drakkar Noir on my wrist, a little C.O. Bigelow Elixer Blue in the air, and a whole lot\u00a0 of wonderful memories to help me feel safe and sleep tight.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
