VT With Me September 2011 Spiritual Spa (Updated)

Pure Life Water Bottle, Pure Fitness Drink Mix Packet, Your own Customizable Spiritual Workout Chart with Instructions

It has been a long summer, full of visitors, family vacations, extra laundry and dirty dishes. The children are back at school and for September’s VT handout we will be taking our sisters to a Spiritual Spa so they (and we) can get back on our pursuit of excellence. The message this month, by Sister Julie Beck, is titled Strengthening Families by Increaing Spirituality. Keeping fit spiritually can be as difficult as keeping fit physically but it is a lot more fun. The things we do each and every day that move us towards a more spiritual self can go unrecognized and usually it is just one or two small things that can move us up a spiritual weight or two. The workout chart should help put all that into perspective. So challenge yourselves and your sisters to work a little harder and become a little stronger, because times are getting tougher and we may need to be able to lift more spiritual weight than we are currently use to. Let’s get to it then.
Sorry, either Adobe flash is not installed or you do not have it enabled
1. Print out all three pages. (Click on the double arrow >> above for print option)
2. Cut out the workout chart and instructions at  4.25 inch and 5.5 inch marks respectively.
3. Cut out brown cardstock or chipboard 5 3/4 by 6 inches
4. Paste a couple of workout charts (top only) to the center of the chipboard, and paste the instructions on the back side of the chipboard (you can also add magnets to this side so your sisters can hang this reminder on their fridge)
5. Add a clip and any other embellishments you would like
6. Cut out the envelope for the drink mix
7. Fold up on the dotted line
8. Hole punch on the mark  (for extra strength you can add reinforcements or tape)
9. Adhere the sides together to form a pocket
10. Slip drink mix into pocket tie with twine around a bottle of Nestle Pure Life water.
Of course you don’t have to go through all this trouble, you can print the workout chart and instructions front to back and just give those as handouts too. Good Luck to you all and give my love to your sisters! PS. this is my first time using Flashpaper. Please contact me if you have any problems at all and I will re-post as PDF’s. Thanks!
Ok we have already had some problems with Flash Paper so here is a PDF of this file.

  • Hi Jessica,
Thank you so much for letting me know. Here is a link to the PDF version. So glad you liked this one. It is one of my favorites.
    Love,

  • This is wonderful, it’s great to go along with the FB Fall Book of Mormon challenge! I think it’s great for inactive and ailing sisters as well! Thank you so much!!!

  • Hi Jessie Momma,

I was so glad to get your comment. I feel the same way. It would be great for inactive and ailing sisters. I know it is something I needed in my life as well so I made myself one and put it on my fridge to remind me of my spirtitual goals. I’m so glad you stopped by and thank you for the comment.

  • Hi. After reading all the things on the slips of paper, I think I am going to go take a nap and try again tomorrow :). Just kidding. That is soooooooooo cute. You rock. I am glad you are my friend.

  • Hi Vicki,
Yea, after I wrote it I took a nap. So glad you like it. I would be fun to do with someone like when we did Weight Watchers together and I lost all that weight. There were so many nights I wanted to give up but I knew you were rooting for me. It wasn’t like you needed it at all. I knew you were doing it just for me. We found all those good restaurants and a hundred and one ways to keep our mind off of our diet. We had so much fun, so worth every point. I’m so glad you have stuck by me through all these years. Hope to see you again soon. Love,

  • What is FHE? It’s listed under the Cardio section. Love this idea by the way. I’m definitely going to use it with my small group!

  • Hi Lorie,
What a good question. Here is the answer from our official FHE website, “Family home evening is a special time set aside each week that brings family members together and strengthens their love for each other, helps them draw closer to Heavenly Father, and encourages them to live righteously.
    Best Wishes,

  • Here it is the last day of the month… and you just saved me with a darling way to share the message. I just hope I can find the drink mix, I’ve never heard of it before. Thanks so MUCH!

  • Hi Bridget,
Thank you for the comment. I’m so glad I could help. Any single drink mix will do but we found these at the local Wal-mart. Hope you had a wonderful day visiting teaching.
